Hello, how are you going?

The uni semester is slowly creeping around the corner meaning it’s time to savour the last few days of the holidays while it lasts!!

I’m really enjoying this book at the moment called ‘The Secret Life of Wombats’. I love how the book describes these creatures as “the hobbits of the Australian bush”.

I'll share with you some things I've learnt...

My top 3 facts about wombats!...

1. Within the family Vombatidae, there are two genera: the bare-nosed/common wombats (1 species) and the hairy-nosed wombats (2 species – Northern and Southern).

2. With the hard plate of bone, muscles, and 1cm thick skin on its back, a wombat can crush you to death in a burrow if it gets under you and shoves you against the tunnel’s roof! Ouch.

3. Wombats have the driest poo of all mammals! Why? Because, their digestive system is extremely efficient in conserving water.
